Wesley J. Dolginoff Obituary (2008) - Overland Park, Kansas

Wesley J. Dolginoff passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at Village Shalom. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, November 12, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost. Burial Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Village Shalom, Kansas City Hospice or a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Dolginoff was a structural engineer for Black & Veatch, working for them from 1947 until his retirement in January, 2006. He was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom. Mr. Dolginoff was born in Kansas City, MO and with his family, moved to and grew up in Sedalia, MO. He attended the University of Missouri at Rolla, where he was a member of the ROTC. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, serving in Western and Central Europe and then was part of the U.S. Occupational Government in Germany. After his military service, he returned to the Kansas City area where he met his loving wife. Mr. Dolginoff was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ida Dolginoff and his brother, Melvin Dolginoff. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marna Dolginoff, of the home; son: Steven Dolginoff, Overland Park, KS; daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Dennis Katz, Overland Park, KS; granddaughters: Jamie Katz and her husband Brady Warshawsky, Rebecca Katz and Hannah Dolginoff, all of Overland Park, KS; Wesley was a gentle man with firm ethics of honesty. His family was #1, of which he was very proud. He was a role model for family, friends and co-workers. Wesley loved to have all holiday meals at home with family and extended family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Rabbi Rob Tobin for his wonderful support and guidance, the staff at Village Shalom for their kind and loving care for the past 2 years as well as his nurses with Kansas City Hospice, Mary and Martha.
