TOBY SIMON Obituary (1918 - 2018) - Kansas City, Missouri

Toby Simon, 99, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Thursday, March 29, 2018 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Toby was born July 20, 1918 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Harry and Nina (Marrinson) Divine. She married Melvin Simon, February 27, 1938 and later moved to Texas. They moved back to St. Paul, then later moved to Kansas City in 1943. Toby was a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and was a member of Hadassah. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always protected and put her family first. Toby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; brothers: Arnold, Harold and Phillip Divine; sisters: Esther Oglansky, Ione Kanefsky and Barbara Roitenberg. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Charles Goodbinder; sons and daughters-in-law: Allan and Mary Simon, Herb and Barbara Simon and Dr. Steven and Ileene Simon; sister: Bette Goldfarb; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Tracy) Simon, Lynn Simon (Sam Lappeman), Brian (Mindi) Simon, Lisa (Seth) Gortenburg, Danny (Susan) Simon, Todd (Jennifer) Goodbinder, Jennifer Simon (Matt Trokenheim), Dr. Jay (Darcy) Goodbinder, Stacey Aviva (Matt) Solomon, Cameron Simon and 17 great-grandchildren.
