Susan Mary Mount Puritz, 61, passed away early Thursday morning, June 21, 2007, from complications of multiple myeloma. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, June 24, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 55th & Ditzler, Raytown, MO. Susan fought a courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma for two and a half years. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, never complaining or feeling sorry for herself. Susan had a great passion for life, her family & friends and activities which included gardening, traveling and golf. Susan grew up in Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. She then began teaching science at the junior high level. After raising her three children, she pursued her entrepreneurial passion and started Sue Fortin Uniforms. Susan later had careers as a director in Rexall Showcase International and ultimately working side by side with her husband at Carl Puritz Insurance Group. Susan was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and its Sisterhood, PEO, The Central Exchange and the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Auxiliary. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Mount of Elkhart, IN. She leaves behind her loving husband of 14 years, Carl Puritz, of the home; son: Mark Fortin, Kansas City, MO; daughters and son-in-law: Katie and Jeremy Van Ommeren, Blue Springs, MO; Robin Fortin, Kansas City, MO; brother and sister-in-law: David and Mary Ellen Mount, Cassopolis, MI; step-sons and their wives: Michael and Andrea Puritz, Buffalo Grove, IL; Keith and Reba Puritz, Palatine, IL; step-daughters and their husbands: Harriet and Larry Almaleh, Overland Park, KS; Shelly and Stu Hirsh, Deerfield, IL; grandson: Luke Van Ommeren; step-grandchildren: Jenna and Alexis Puritz; Connor and Emme Puritz; Ryan and Katie Almaleh; Lindsay and Jeffrey Hirsh;
