SONIA ZIMMERMAN Obituary (1928 - 2016)

Sonia Zimmerman of Overland Park passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, February 7, 2016. Sonia was reunited with her beloved husband. Harold Zimmerman , who passed away March 8th , 1986. Sonia and Harold's deep love for each other was reflected in her desire to never remarry. Sonia was the daughter of Gertrude and Leo Schleifstein who owned Leo's Pharmacy at 18th and Brooklyn in Kansas City. The family drug store was the epicenter of Sonia's life for more than 50 years and provided great joy and memories to Sonia and her family. Sonia is survived by her three children: Sheila Z Hopkins (Jerry), Sandra Schmitz (Rick) and Keith Zimmerman (Barbara). Sheila, Sandy and Keith and their families all live in the Kansas City area. Sonia also left six adoring grandchildren who will miss her very much. Private family services were held.
