Simon Weisberger Obituary (2007)

Simon Weisberger, 92, of Plano, TX, passed away Sunday October 7, 2007. Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 10 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Mr. Weisberger was born in Austria-Hungary and came to the U.S. at the age of 7 and to Kansas City in the 1930’s. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Mr. Weisberger worked in the wholesale foods industry as a sales representative, retiring in 1987. After the death of his beloved wife Esther, in October of 2004, he moved to the Dallas, TX area to be closer to his family. Mr. Weisberger was a longtime member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and its Men’s Club. He was also a member of B’nai B’rith, The Jewish Community Center and was a Mason. Mr. Weisberger is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Steven Finkelstein; grandson: Brian Finkelstein; granddaughter and her husband: Julie and Tim Penrod, all of the Greater Dallas area. His extended family also survives.
