Selwyn H. Oshry Obituary (1936 - 2010)

Selwyn H. Oshry, 74, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2010 at his home. Graveside services will be at 11:00am Thursday, October 7 at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Oshry was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, the son of William and Isabel Oshry, coming to the United States in 1981 through New York, going first to California, then coming to the Kansas City area. He was a lawyer in private practice and was a member of the Chabad House in Overland Park, KS. Mr. Oshry loved to play golf and for a time, he was a member of the Senior PGA. He loved doting on his grandchildren and spending as much time with his family as possible. Mr. Oshry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 32 years, Rachel Oshry, in 2005. He is survived by his daughter and son- in-law: Bella and Jason Kohl, Overland Park, KS; sister: Carol Pesskin, Champagne, England; grandsons: Aaron Kohl and Benji Kohl.
