Sam Waldmann Obituary (2007) - Kansas City, Missouri

Sam Waldmann passed away Thursday June 7, 2007. Graveside servicees will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kehilath Israel Synagogue or a charity of the donor’s choice. Mr. Waldmann was born in Poland and was a Holocaust survivor. He immigrated to the United States in 1949, settling in Kansas City where he had relatives and where he and his wife raised their children. Mr. Waldmann was employed by Wolferman’s and in the last 25 years, prior to retirement, he worked for Commerce Bank. He was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue for 50 years. He contributed to many organizations, including The Jewish Federation, The Holocaust Center in Washington, D.C., Yad Vashem, a Holocaust memorial in Tel Aviv, Israel, B’nai B’rith and many religious yeshivas in Israel. Mr. Waldmann is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sophia, his daughter and son-in-law Heidy and Norman Farber of Kansas City, MO, his daughter Sherry Waldmann of Overland Park, KS, his grandson, Dr. Michael Farber of Minneapolis, MN, his sister, Sala Werthaiser of Cincinnati, OH, his sister-in-law, Rela Rozenberg of Kansas City, MO, cousins and their families, Helen Loeffler and Sam and Maurine Agron, all of Overland Park, KS, Paul and Sophie Berlin of California, Dr. Edward and Bernice Ziegler of Connecticut and nieces and nephews.
