Sam L. Levy, 86, of Kansas City, MO, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Thursday, December 8, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. The family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Levy was an agent with Equitable Life Assurance Society and had been with them since 1961 until his retirement. He was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue, former member of its Board of Directors, past president of its Men’s Club and the Mr. and Mrs. Club, former chairman of its Aleph Chevura, member of its Minyanaires Club, former member of Ohev Sholom Synagogue, was an active worker with the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, member of B’nai B’rith, Jewish War Veterans, Vishay Club, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Auxiliary. Mr. Levy was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was born in New York, NY. Mr. Levy was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Levy, in 1997. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Miriam Levy, of Israel; Paul and Marianne Levy, of Kansas City, MO; daughter and son-in-law: Betty and Rick Klein, of Overland Park, KS; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. “He was a gentleman from soul to crown” and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
