Rosa Gold

Rosa Gold, 94, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Village Shalom. Graveside services will be at 1:30pm Wednesday, February 17th at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mrs. Gold worked for Mendel’s Dress Manufacturing Co. as a designer's seamstress from 1952 until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and its Sisterhood; Hadassah, AMIT Women, the Jewish Community Center and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mrs. Gold was born in Budapest, Hungary and was a Holocaust Survivor. She immigrated to the United States coming thru Ellis Island and came to Kansas City to join her sister and brother-in-law. Mrs. Gold was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dave Gold, in 2006. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Matt and Jody Gold, Overland Park, KS; Bob Gold, San Francisco, CA; her sister and brother-in-law: Lilly and Abe Meth, Prescott, AZ; grandchildren: Sara, Alex and Alyssa Gold. nieces and nephews also survive.
