Robert Kessler Obituary (2006) - Overland Park, Kansas

Robert Manual Kessler, 79, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully July 2,2006 at home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 4 at Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost, KCMO. Burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery immediately following. Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City. Bob graduated from Central High in Kansas City in 1944, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Bob married his soul mate, Diane Vigder in 1950. He was a long-time grocery store owner and manager until 1996, and continued to enjoy remaining active in the business until very recently, helping customers part-time at Hy-Vee. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane; his beloved sons, Stanton Kessler of Kansas City, Gary Kessler and wife, Lourdes, of Overland Park, KS, and Martin Kessler of Mission, KS; brother, Lester A. Kessler of Olathe, KS; five grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
