Nathan B. Plattner Obituary (1918

Nathan Plattner, 91, of Prairie Village, KS passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at his home. Graveside services 2:30pm Monday October 26 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue or The American Cancer Society. Nate immigrated from Poland to the United States as a young child and came to Kansas City, KS to join relatives as a youth. He attended area schools and then community college. He served with the US Army in Panama during WW II. Nate began a long career in sales working a total of 37 years for Youthcraft Manufacturing, first as a sales representative and then as National Sales Manager. When he left the clothing industry Nate had a career in real estate. A salesman his whole life he was considered one of the best in his field and was respected and well liked by all. He was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue for over 70 years and a member of both Meadowbrook and Oakwood Country Clubs. Nate was preceded in death by his parents and his seven siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Amanda, of the home; son: Michael Plattner, Prairie Village, KS. Nate was a thoughtful and loving husband and father. He will be missed by all.
