Naidene Beverlly Frank Rosenthal Obituary (2007)

Naidene Beverlly Rosenthal, 82, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away October 1, 2007 after waging a courageous battle of many years against declining health. Born in Kansas City, MO to Bertram and Rosebud Frank in 1925, as an only child she enjoyed her companionship with neighborhood and school friends, and her participation in the Rainbow Girls and Campfire Girls’ organizations. She attended Southeast High School, graduating in 1943. Married in 1956 to Harry F. Rosenthal, she was preceded in death by their son David Nelson Rosenthal. In 1967 the family moved to the Washington, DC area where they maintained a residence until July, 2006. Returning to Kansas City, the Rosenthals established their home with daughter Lesli I. Rosenthal-Mulligan, granddaughter Megan Marie and her father Matthew Mulligan. While living in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Rosenthal was actively engaged in voluntary work with the National Council of Jewish Women. She also took great pleasure in entertaining wives of the Diplomatic Service as a volunteer with the Hospitality Information Service. She often spoke of the diversity of languages, dress and cultures represented in their frequent gatherings, and the fact that through this organization’s efforts, the women who might otherwise feel strange and lonely in a foreign city, had a place to come and blend into the American scene. As Naidene was to her many foreign friends, she was to her lifelong friends, always interested, steadfast and loyal. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, daughter and granddaughter. Graveside services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, October 3, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 105th & Holmes.
