Mildred "Millie" Zeldin Obituary (2008)

Mildred Zeldin, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at The Forum of Overland Park. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Wednesday, February 27 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Sheffield Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Parkinson’s Foundation, Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner Synagogue or a charity of one’s choice. Mrs. Zeldin was secretary for Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner Synagogue for various Rabbis for 16 years before her retirement. She was a member of Beth Israel Abraham & Voliner Synagogue, was very active in its Sisterhood, and was a member and past president of the Marcella Rodin Club. Mrs. Zeldin taught Hebrew in Sunday School. She was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s “City of Fountains” chorus. Mrs. Zeldin was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was born in Kansas City, MO, was a life long area resident and graduated from Northeast High School. Mrs. Zeldin was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Isaac Zeldin, in 1985, a brother, Barnett Eichenberg and a sister, Dorothy Agron. She is survived by her son: Richard M. Zeldin, Kansas City, MO; daughters and son-in-law: Pamela R. Zeldin, Denver, CO; Karla J. Zeldin and James Korn, Denver, CO and Karen A. Zeldin, Denver, CO; brother: Royal Eichenberg, Kansas City, MO; sister: Leah Doria, Arleta, CA; sisters-in-law: Sarah Zeldin, Kansas City, MO and Anne Baum, Overland Park, KS; granddaughter: Asher Korn, Denver, CO.
