MICHAEL GARRY COPELAND

Michael Garry Copeland, 61 of Prairie Village, KS passed away peacefully in his home on October 14, 2014. He was born in Kansas City, MO. His late parents were Marvin Jerome (Jerry) Copeland (father) Hope Rene’ Nelkin Braeman, (mother), and his grandmother was Helen Nelkin.

Michael is survived by his brother, Stephen Allen Copeland, sister, Deborah S. Mayer, niece, Elena B. Mayer, and nephew, Jacob S. Mayer.

Michael liked to entertain people with close-up magic. He collected a lot of tricks from US Toys. He sold life and cancer insurance for many years and was the top monthly salesman several times. Michael also drove limousines and took many well-known and famous people around the greater KC area. He became friends with Eric Clapton, Joe Mc Guff of the Kansas City Star and Ewing and Muriel Kaufman of the Royals. Michael was actively involved in politics and advocacy rights for the less fortunate. He loved his niece, Elena and nephew, Jacob, spending many hours with them.

Graveside services are Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Please no flowers. You may donate to your favorite charity to honor the memory of Michael.
