Michael "Mikey" Lewis Coleman III Obituary (1995 - 2019)

Michael "Mikey" Lewis Coleman III, 23, of Overland Park, KS went missing on Monday, August 12, 2019. He was found deceased August 16, 2019 after battling depression for many years. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Megerman and Mike Coleman as well as great-grandparents: Edmund and Barbara Curtis, Ben and Ann Sukiennik , Joseph and Sara Megerman and Dorothy Oswalt. Mikey enjoyed long walks in nature by himself or with his Nana's dogs. He liked taking her dogs to the dog park and watching them swim in the lake, sometimes joining his four legged friends. He enjoyed politics and even ran for House of Representatives in District 22. As a child of the Information Age he enjoyed gaming with others and researching various topics. He was very creative and passionate about writing and poetry. So much so, that when he was in high school he and his best friend, Hugh Skidmore, created their own comic entitled "The Orange Law Firm". Mikey is survived by his parents: Rachel and Michael Coleman II, his younger brothers: Aaron, 18 and Allen, 16 of Kansas City, Ks; his grandparents: Esther Megerman of Overland Park, Ks, Marsha and Ron Tomberlin, of Overland Park, Ks; great-grandmother: Taisa Simon of Leawood, Ks and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or a charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 26, 2019 at Sheffield Cemetery, 6100 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, MO 64123.
