Francisco Del Muro Obituary (2007) - Kansas City, Missouri

Francisco Del Muro, M.D. was born November 11, 1923 in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was one of thirteen children. He married his wife, Loyda on February 11, 1949. They have seven children; Esther, Frank, Loyda, Justine, Edward, Cassandra, and Benjamin. He leaves behind his wife, children and countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They moved to Chicago, Illinois in the spring of 1995. Although he had already been practicing medicine in Mexico, he was required to begin an internship and residency before becoming licensed in this country. They struggled financially throughout these early years but their desire for a better life for their children outweighed the sacrifices made upon arrival to the States. He was proud of becoming a United States citizen.He raised his family in Chicago until 1972. He moved his family to Kansas City, Missouri where he opened a private practice in Gladstone. His family practice was a life-long dream and he enjoyed many years practicing medicine. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was known for providing free medical services for those in need or accepting baked goods and home grown vegetables from his elderly patients in exchange for medical services. Although retired, Dr. Del Muro never stopped providing medical services to his family and their friends.As he became older he requested that he and his wife remain in their home until their death. His children have honored this request and he expressed much gratitude to his children who live in the area and who have provided care for him and their mother throughout the past years. Dr. Del Muro passed away August 3, 2007 at the age of 83. Services were held privately and for family only.
