Maury Epstein Obituary (1932 - 2011)

Maury Epstein, 78, of Leawood, KS, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Friday, December 2, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.Kindly omit flowers. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or Compassionate Care Hospice. Maury was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, moved to Greenville, KY in 1964 then to Kansas City in 1966. He worked for TWA as a store clerk at MCI for 20 years before his retirement. Maury was a former member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and was a member of the Heritage Center at the Jewish Community Center. He had a passion for soccer and loved to dance and travel. Maury and Fanny traveled the world, especially on cruises. He was very family oriented and had a large social life, having many friends all over the world. Maury was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Paulina Epsztein. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fanny; daughters and son-in-law: Susan and Rob Pittell and Claudia Epstein, all of Overland Park, KS; grandson: Micah; and nieces and nephews. Maury was a very caring man who will be missed by his family and many friends. The family wishes to express a special thanks to JoAnn and Marilyn and all of the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice.
