Mary Berman

Mary Berman, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died at home Friday, November 6. Born in Kansas City on March 6, 1922 to Rose & Ben Sonken, she attended Southwest High School and Kansas City Community College. She was a lifelong member of Temple B’nai Jehudah, having been confirmed and married there. She was also a member of Temple Sisterhood and the Council of Jewish Women. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Herb Berman, and by two brothers, Jerry and Ben Sonken. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lindy & Larry Glass of Leawood, Lanny & Bryant Moyer of Topeka, KS, and Patti & Jeff Marquis of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren Mark & Brandy Glass, Steve & Michelle Glass, Gabriel & Lynn Jacobs, Mary & Eric Worsham, Joseph Jacobs & fiancée Jenn Dickinson, Noah & Krisha Jacobs, and four great grandchildren. Her family appreciates her wonderful friends for the fun and joy they contributed to her life. She gave so much love and was much loved in return. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, November 8, at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
