Lyubov Kapustin Obituary (1928 - 2013)

Lyubov Kapustin, 85, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Manor Care of Overland Park. Funeral services 1:00pm Sunday, July 21 in the chapel at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery followed by burial. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or Jewish Family Services. Mrs. Kapustin, the daughter of Aaron and Perla (Burman) Burshteyn, was born in the Ukraine and came to the United States with her family in 1989, sponsored by Jewish Family Services in Kansas City. She was an English language teacher and translator, teaching public high school for over 30 years. She always made a point to help her friends and other immigrants translate Russian to English, teaching them English as a second language. Mrs. Kapustin was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue for 24 years. She was very dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read and took great pride in her appearance. Mrs. Kapustin was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law: Emma and Arkady Mayzenberg. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Moysey Kapustin; son and daughter-in-law: Dmitry and Svetlana Kapustin, Overland Park; daughter and son-in-law: Tatyana and Joseph Shuklaper, Lenexa; sister and brother-in-law: Lilya and Mark Burshteyn, Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren: Julia Karasev and her husband Alexey, Renata Shuklaper and Adena Kapustin; two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kapustin will be greatly missed by her family and many friends throughout the world.
