Joseph L. Speyer, 94, of Prairie Village, KS, died at his home on January 4, 2007. Memorial services will be 4:30pm at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Child World Foundation, in care of The Louis Memorial Chapel. Joe is survived by his beloved wi- fe of 56 years, Gwendoline E. Speyer. He was born in Kansas City, MO on June 23, 1912, the son of Henry and Blanche Loeb Speyer. He graduated from the Kansas City School of Law in 1935. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Joe was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. He was in the real estate business in Kansas City for many years and was the owner of Speyer Realty, Inc. Joe assisted Gwen in the founding and operation of Child World School. Joe is also survived by his nieces: Eva Jean Speyer Immich, Wichita, KS and Patricia Speyer Welling, Great Falls, MT; nephew: Jack Speyer, Leeds, MA; cousins: Barry and David Rubin, both of the Kansas City area and Sidney Loeb, Israel; and many friends.
