Irene Miller Dworkin Obituary (2006)

Irene Miller Dworkin, 88, of Overland Park, KS passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Village Shalom. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday, September 21, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Kansas City Hospice or the Miller-Mossel-Dworkin Educational Fund c/o The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Mrs. Dworkin was co-owner with her late 1st husband, Sol Miller, of S.A. Miller Jewelry from 1951 to 1986. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, B’nai B’rith, Meadowbrook Country Club, life member of Hadassah and was a founding member of the Nautilus Sorority Club. Besides her 1st husband Sol, who died in 1973. Mrs. Dworkin was preceded in death by her parents: Rose and Joseph Mossel; her brothers: Ben and Max Mossel and a sister: Anna Rubins. Mrs. Dworkin is survived by her husband: Archie Dworkin, of the home; daughters and son-in-law: Karen and Spencer Peterson, Gladstone, MO; Beverly Weiss, Palm Beach, FL; sister: Lillian Rubin, Overland Park, KS; step children: Ellen Kelsey, Austin, TX; Robert and Connie Dworkin, Omaha, NE; Sam and Kellie Dworkin, Lenexa, KS; grandchildren: Marc Weiss, Denver, CO; Stephen and Carmen Weiss, Miami, FL; Joel and Susan Zeff, Coppell, TX; Melissa Zeff-Thompson and husband, Larry Thompson, Kansas City, MO; many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive, who all loved her very much.
