HELEN KAUFMAN WEINSTEIN Obituary (1916 - 2015)

Helen K. Weinstein, aged 98, of Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, October 5, 2015. Preceded in death by loving husband Norman. Mourned by children Diane and Mickey Shultz of Overland Park and Phyllis and Barry Cytron of Minneapolis; grandchildren Johnna and Byron Shultz of Phoenix, Naomi Cytron of San Francisco, Davida Cytron and Ted Smetana of Minneapolis, and Jenny Hirshfeld-Cytron and Joseph Cytron of Deerfield, and great-grandchildren Sutton Shultz, Orli and Eva Cytron, and Levi and Nina Smetana. She also leaves sisters Sarah Zeldin and Jeanette Dubin, countless nieces and nephews, and devoted caregivers, notably Dr. Donald Cohen. Helen was remarkably hard working and exceptionally resilient. She was an unabashedly proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Helen was a life member of Beth Shalom and applied her devotion to religious services and classes at Village Shalom. She always had a story to tell and a cookie to share. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beth Shalom Congregation, Kansas City Hospice or Village Shalom.
