Helen V. Richmond, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 due to complications following hip surgery at St. Luke''s Hospital - Plaza. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, May 2, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Red Cross. Mrs. Richmond was member of The Temple, Congregation B''nai Jehudah, the Women''s City Club and assisted her husband, Marvin, in his activities with the Missouri Valley Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association. She was born in Cleburne, Kansas and came to the Kansas City area as a young adult. Mrs. Richmond was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cassandra Champagne. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Marvin Richmond, of the home; son: Brett Richmond, Tempe, AZ; daughter and son-in-law: Pam and Frank Champagne, Birch Bay, WA; granddaughter: Sheri Richmond; grandson: Grek Richmond; nephew: Rodger and his wife Vaso Bailey, Olathe, KS. Mrs. Richmond was a kind and devoted wife, mother, homemaker and a great cook. She expressed her artistic talents through piano, fashion design, sewing, painting and photography.
