HELEN ANN SLOTNICK “Aunt Helen” 2-9-1916 – 6-27-2007 Helen Ann Slotnick, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Graveside services will be 1:30pm Friday, June 29, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114-9808. Helen Ann was born to Morris and Sara Schwartz on February 9, 1916 in St. Joseph, MO. Helen’s lovely eyes and bright smile endeared her to many, especially children and young adults. She was involved as a cub scout district den mother. Helen was lovingly known as AUNT HELEN to thousands of youth who were in B’nai B’rith Youth Organization where she served first as an advisor and then as an executive secretary for over 25 years. In the last 22 years, she has used her talents in the volunteer world where she worked for the American Cancer Association and then the Kansas City Hospice Association. Helen is survived by her beloved husband of almost 70 years, Ben Slotnick; sons and daughters-in-law: Marc and Crystal Slotnick, Naples, FL; Barry and Harriet Slotnick, Grandview, MO; grandchildren: Scott Slotnick, O''Brien, Oregon; Marci Slotnick Cain and her husband Matt and their three children: Alora, Shayna and Jacob; sister-in-law: Shirley Schwartz and family; niece: Alice Irene Rosenberg and her husband, Elliot, Chicago, IL; nephew: Retired Major Michael Katz and his wife Wendy, Ellensberg, WA; great-nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Schwartz. Helen led a long and fulfilled life, but will be missed by her family and friends.
