Harold J. Hester Obituary (1954

Yaakovv (Harold J.) Hester, 54, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Services were held Friday, May 8, in the chapel at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. Burial followed at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Child Development Center at the Jewish Community Center, Rabbi H. Scott White's Discretionary Fund at Congregation Ohev Sholom or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Hester was an electrician - entrepreneur, building his own business and following his dream. Yaakov was born in Kansas City, MO. He met his wife Norma online in December, 2003 and she knew he would be the man of her dreams. Yaakov moved to Bolivia in June, 2004 and was married there in October, 2004. He later brought his wife and son to the United States where they would be safe. Yaakov is survived by his wife of 4 years, Norma Hester and his son, Yitzack Tovia Hester, both of the home; his daughter: Ashley Hester, Overland Park, KS; his parents: Harold and Mabel Hester, Shawnee, KS; brothers and sister-in-law: Mark Hester, Shawnee, KS; Russell and Carol Hester, Kansas City, KS; sisters and brother-in-law: Charlene and Stan Merlott, Pennsylvania; Heather Butler, Gardner, KS; granddaughter: Joscelyn Aquirre. Yaakov was the best and most loving husband. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
