HAROLD M. GERSH Obituary (1932 - 2015)

Harold M. Gersh, 83, died December 23, 2015. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice. Harold was born May 28, 1932, to Max and Sarah Gersh. He was a high school counselor at Shawnee Mission East for 28 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to his retirement, he taught English at Paseo High School from 1955-63. He was a member of Johnson County Retired Teachers Assoc. and was a life member of the National Education Association. In his youth, he traveled the world and was an avid ballroom dancer. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack and Charles Gersh, sisters Rose Singer, Pearl Jabenis, and Mary Plotzker. He is survived by his sister, Eunice Zachariash, his son, John Davidson, of California, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed.
