Gilda Ann Bormaster, 77, of Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday May 28 at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. She graduated from Paseo High School in 1946. She attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau. Gilda married her loving husband of 56 years, Howard Bormaster, her best friend and partner, on June 5, 1949. Gilda worked at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at UMKC for 23 years until her retirement in 1991. She was a lifelong member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and its Sisterhood. Gilda also volunteered at Village Shalom.Gilda is survived by her husband, Howard, of the home; daughters: Cathy Sleeper, Overland Park, KS, Karen Bormaster, Prairie Village, KS, Sandy and her husband Jimmy Shugrue, Kansas City, MO; three granddaughters: Erin Sleeper, Molly and Sydney Shugrue; brother-in-law Martin Bormaster, Los Angeles, CA.Gilda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed. Those who loved her will take comfort in her example of a life well lived.
