Gary S. Galler Obituary (2008) - Overland Park, Kansas

Gary S. Galler, 57, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:30pm Friday, August 1, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Gary worked in the steel industry as a trader since 1974, the last 4 years working for Royal Metal, Olathe, KS. He graduated from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television. Gary was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi social fraternity while at KU and was an avid Jayhawk fan. He was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue. Gary was an avid tennis player and loved to play at the Jewish Community Center. He also loved Royals baseball where he was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. Gary was born in Wichita, KS to Carl and Sylvia Galler and moved to the Kansas City area in 1972 after graduating from KU. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Morris and Ethel Galler and Rose Goldstein. Gary is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbi Galler, of the home; sons and daughter-in-law: Joshua Aaron and Laura Galler, Lenexa, KS; Hayden Marc Galler, Overland Park, KS; parents: Carl and Sylvia Galler, Wichita, KS; brother: Keith Galler, Parsons, KS; grandson: Owen Benjamin Galler, Lenexa, KS and two nieces: Lauren Dovner, Scottsdale, AZ and Hayley Becker, Overland Park, KS. Gary had lots of great friends, was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
