Frank Zoglin Obituary (2008) - Prairie Village, Kansas

Frank Zoglin, 95, of Kansas City, MO, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008, at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Thursday, December 4, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice. Frank lived a vibrant, long and happy life. He was born on May 10, 1913, in Kansas City, MO. His parents, Bessie and Isaac Zoglin, were Russian immigrants. Frank had a natural curiosity and a zest for life. He attended school at Kansas State University and received a degree in architectural engineering. In 1940, Frank had a blind date that changed his life. He met Mollie Rashbaum and it was love at first sight. After a whirlwind courtship, the two married. Their two sons, Ron and Robert, describe Frank as being “flexible, good natured, and always ready to try new adventures.” Frank had a deep entrepreneurial spirit. With his brother Manny, he created a construction company and built homes and buildings throughout the Kansas City area. He also owned a bowling alley, a neon light business and other fascinating ventures. Whatever he did, wherever he went, Frank enjoyed his life. He loved traveling with Mollie, the boys and friends. He was the life of many parties. Frank had a large lucky streak and liked challenging the odds in cards and games of chance. His luck continued throughout his long and active life. He and Mollie enjoyed 68 years of marriage, with a love that flourished and deepened over time. He had a great relationship with his sons and with his brother Manny, now deceased, Manny’s wife Rose, and their children, Richard, Janet, Larry and Paul. We will miss him deeply and we will remain inspired by the example he set – to fully embrace life and all it holds.
