FERNE S. SEARLES Obituary (1933 - 2016)

Ferne Searles, 82 of Leawood, KS passed away April 24, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the Yukon Chapel at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, with burial to follow. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ronald McDonald House or to Wayside Waifs. Ferne was born October 1, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Albert and Esther Satz. She was a lifetime member of Beth Shalom Synagogue’s Sisterhood and was a member of Hadassah. Ferne enjoyed flowers, traveling with her friends, playing cards such as pan and playing mahjong. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Milton Searles. Ferne is survived by her son, Mark Searles and wife Toube; daughter, Felice Searles and companion John Haggerty; grandchildren, Adam Searles and wife Rachel, Jordan Searles, Arianna Searles and her brother, Stanley Satz and wife Wanda. The family would like to thank Teresa Luis for her many years of service and support and also the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice for their wonderful care.
