Eunice K. Cooper Obituary (2007)

Eunice K. Cooper, 66, formerly of the Kansas City area, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at her home in Henderson, NV. Funeral services will be 10:30am Monday, November 12, at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Jewish Women International, Congregation Ner Tamid, Henderson, NV or The Minuteman Foundation, Henderson, NV. Mrs. Cooper was born in Kansas City, MO and was a life long area resident until moving with her husband, Roger, to Denver in 1996 and then to Henderson in 1999. Mrs. Cooper was a public school teacher, a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and its sisterhood, ORT, Hadassah, Life Member of the Jewish Women International, former Regional Vice President of the B’nai B’rith Women and a member of the Whole Person, an advocacy group for the handicapped. Eunice took part in studies of public access to federal buildings. Many of the findings were included in the American Disabilities Act. She was also a member of the Congregation Ner Tamid and its Sisterhood, in Henderson, NV. Eunice is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger Cooper, of the home; son & daughter-in-law: Michael and Amanda Cooper, Overland Park, KS; daughter and son-in-law: Melanie & Dr. Daniel Zimmerman, Northbrook, IL; grandchildren: Joel, Ben and Elana Zimmerman and Christopher Cooper; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mitchell and Carol Kur, Jamica Plains, MA; C. Edward and Sally Kur, Tempe, AZ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Myrna and Gerald Wacknov, Foster City, CA; Harriet and Elon Goitein, Israel; and Maxine and Mark Brand, Denver, CO.
