Esther "Blackie" Gershon Obituary (1912 - 2010)

Esther “Blackie” Gershon, 98, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at Timberlake Care Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, August 2 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave. Burial Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Mid-America Chapter, 6811 W. 63rd Street, Ste. 202, Mission, KS 66202. Mrs. Gershon was a sales associate and later a manager at Wolff Brothers on the Plaza for 27 years. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 1985; brothers: Martin and Carl Myers; sisters: Flo Green, Jen Myers, Edna Goldberg and Molly Myers. Mrs. Gershon is survived by son and daughter-in-law: David Gershon and Susan Shepherd, Kansas City, MO; daughter and son-in-law: Harriet Gershon and Jordan Samuelsohn, Stamford, CN; grandchildren and their spouses: Danny and Dayna Gershon, Loren and Jason Reif, Joey and Natalie Gershon; grandchildren Gina Brown, Anthony Dramshek, Karen Profsky; granddaughter Lisa Fisher and her partner Kim Felsenthal; great-grandchildren: Max and Sadie Gershon, Chase, Ashlyn and Brooke Brown, Rowen and Caleb Fisher, Micah, Zachary and Noah Reif, Jacob and Samantha Profsky.
