June Levine Obituary (2007) - Overland Park, Kansas

June Levine, 93, of Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007. Graveside services will be Friday, 3:00 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6900 Troost Ave. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to the K.C. Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145. Mrs. Levine was born in California where as a teenager she was crowned Miss Southern California. She was graduated from the Pasadena Playhouse and was an actress during the 1930’s. Mrs. Levine moved to Washington, D.C. where she met her first husband and then came to the Kansas City area. She enjoyed playing tennis into her eighties and more recently has enjoyed playing bridge and canasta. She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her granddaughter Elspeth. She was a former member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue. Mrs. Levine was preceded in death by her first husband, George Charno, Jr. in 2006. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Alvin Levine; her son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Melody Charno; granddaughter: Elspeth Charno; stepsons: Jeffrey, Douglas and Drew Levine.
