Edith (Stolov) Meyers Obituary (1916 - 2011)

Edith (Stolov) Meyers, 94, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Trinity Nursing and Rehab, Merriam, KS. Memorial services will be held at 11:45am Friday, January 28, at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Kindly omit flowers; The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, the Rose and Sol Stolowy Fund at Beth Shalom Synagogue or the charity of your choice. Mrs. Meyers, her husband and cousin owned for many years, “Midtown Snack Shop”. She then went to work for the FAA for 27 years before retiring in 1980. Mrs. Meyers born in Kansas City and was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, Hannick Family Club, the Civerettes and Manual High School Alumni Association. Mrs. Meyers was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Hannah (Hannick) Stolov; her husband of 54 years, Jack F. Meyers, who died in 1988; her infant brother, Leslie Stolov; sister, Ruby Krantz; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith Meyers and her brothers-in-law, Sam Fish, Jack Glassman and Leo Smith. She is survived by her son, Ron Meyers, Overland Park, KS and her sisters, Pauline Fish, Trudy Glassman, Bobbi Smith and Marlene Rafsky. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Nursing and Rehab for all their care and loving treatment of Edith. Edith’s warmth, kindness and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
