Dorothy Cohen nee Remis Obituary (1913

Dorothy entered peacefully to rest on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2010, in San Mateo, California of natural causes. Dorothy was born April 3, 1913 in Kansas City, MO to Morris & Mollie Remis. She spent her childhood in Kansas City until she married. She then moved to Waterloo, IA for business reasons. She and her husband Ben moved to California in 1949 and became a long time resident of Daly City, CA, a suburb of San Francisco. Dot was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ben and brothers, Sam, Abe and Bill Remis and her twin-sister Doris Press. One other sister Sadie died in 1920. Dorothy’s interest was homemaking, shopping and talk radio. She is survived by her children, Marsha Kliewer (Ray) and Harvey Cohen (Georgia) and two granddaughters, Zorelle and Maryn Cohen and many nieces and nephews. The family is deeply grateful to Rosanna Gauna and Norma at Friendly Corner Home, San Mateo, CA for their able and sensitive care for the last eight years. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, May 13, at Sheffield Cemetery. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1060 LaAvenida St., Mountain View, CA 94043 or a favorite charity.
