Dorothy N. Woll Obituary (2008) - Overland Park, Kansas

Dorothy Woll, 97, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services for Mrs. Woll will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Kindly omit flowers; the family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House or the American Cancer Society. Dorothy was born in Sedalia, MO. She attended the University of Missouri where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in music. She then studied piano for a year in France. Mrs. Woll was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel B. Woll, brothers Roy and Sam Ruskin, and sisters Florence Ruskin and Lorrine Rosenblatt. Survivors are a daughter, Roberta “Bobbie” Moritz(Don) of Overland Park; sons, Harvey Woll of Red Bank, NJ, and Stanley Woll(Myra) of Foothill Ranch, CA. She was affectionately known as “Mommom” by her 4 grandchildren, Mindy Walter(David) of Overland Park, Michael Kahn(JoRean) of Norton, MA, Jeri Groves(BG) of Chandler, AZ, and Stuart Moritz(Connie) of Dallas, TX, and 7 great grandchildren. Her family will dearly miss her seemingly limitless energy, sharp and incisive mind, the quiet dignity with which she carried herself even under the toughest of circumstances. Dorothy was alert and lucid to the very end.
