Clara Bell Fox Obituary (1916 - 2011)

Clara Bell Fox, 95, of Overland Park, KS passed away on December 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, December 21 at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131. The family suggests contributions to the Ben Bell Scholarship Fund at Beth Shalom Synagogue, 14200 Lamar Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66223, or a charity of your choice. Clara was born October 7, 1916 to Alfred and Minnie Berg in Kansas City, MO. She attended Westport High School and Kansas City Junior College. She was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and a past Vice President and Life Member of its Sisterhood Board. She was a member of Hadassah and of Jewish Women's International. She was also a member of the former Shalom Geriatric Center Auxiliary. Additionally, she was a dedicated volunteer at both Village Shalom and Menorah Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ben Bell, in 1954 and her second husband, Mike Fox, in 1988. She is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Linda Bell, Leawood, KS, her daughter and her husband, Barbara and Karl Stein, Raleigh, NC, and her daughter-in-law, Elaine “Sukey” Fox, Overland Park, KS. Also surviving are her niece and nephew, Sue and Mel Gray, Chicago, IL and her three grand children, David and his wife Debby Bell, Leawood, KS, Jonathan Bell, Las Vegas, NV and Matthew Stein, Washington, DC.
