Betty Jean (Schleifstein) Moses, 89, was born September 8, 1922 to Leo & Gertrude and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Luke’s South. Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Monday, January 16, 2012 at
Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS 66209. Burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Beth Torah or to a charity of one’s choice. Betty graduated from Central High School and was working for BMA Insurance when she met the love of her life, Lou. Their love affair spanned 65+ years. She and her husband, Lou, worked together in the family business,
Leo’s Pharmacy, for many years. They went on to own several gift shops in the Kansas City area. After selling their businesses and retiring for just three days, both went on to work for their daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Robert, at d’Bronx Deli. She was
known to make an awesome latte and cappuccino and was so precise in taking down phone orders for customers that there was never a mistake made. Betty was a member of Congregation Beth Torah and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She lived her life with dignity and died with dignity, looking beautiful as always. Betty leaves her loving husband of over 65 years, Louis Moses; her three daughters and sons-in-law: Janet and
Robert Bloom; Judy and Ron Dubrov; Julie and Ron Altman; grandchildren: Barbara and Doug Mead, Stacy and Dirk Foxworthy, Erin Bloom, Andrew Dubrov, Allyson Dubrov, Jordy Altman, Doug Altman and Scott Altman; great-grandchildren: Alex Mead, Lauren Mead, Nathan Foxworthy and Lexie Foxworthy; and a sister: Sonia Zimmerman. She will be missed by all who loved and adored her.
