Bess Davis

Bess Davis, 84, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at The Grand Court of Overland Park. Funeral services will be at 3:30pm Sunday, April 15, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Michael Ravis Memorial Fund at Gift of Life, 6405 Metcalf, Suite 109, Overland Park, KS 66202.Bess was born September 12, 1922 and was a lifelong area resident. She worked for many years as a secretary and later held the position of Vice President of Mercantile Bank. She was known for her artistic ability creating drawings, bead work, and ceramics. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful outlook on life. She was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. She and her husband, Bernard Davis, were married for 51 years before he passed away in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Ravis, who passed away in 2005.Bess leaves behind her son, Ronald Davis, of Lenexa, her daughter, Diane Ravis, of Leawood, granddaughters, Amy Ravis Furey and her husband, Brian Furey of Hoboken, New Jersey, Lori Ravis of Chicago, Jennifer Davis of Lenexa, sister, Lois Myers, of Overland Park and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
