BERNICE F. EISEN Obituary (1916 - 2018)

Bernice F. Eisen, 101, was born on April 6, 1916 on Staten Island, New York to Bernard and Ida Schwartz and came to Kansas City at the age of 12 after her father passed away. Bernice died following a short illness after living a very long and satisfying life. She was married to Morton Eisen for 38 years until his death in 1975. She was the consummate Mahjong and Rummikub player and thoroughly enjoyed the friends she made before and after she moved to Village Shalom. Bernice is preceded in death by her twin sisters, Shirley Baum, Miami, Florida and Muriel Cowic, Cleveland, Ohio. She is survived by her brother, Leonard (Charlotte) Schwartz, Cleveland, Ohio; two children, Barbara Eisen and Stu (Ellen) Eisen, of Kansas City, Missouri; one granddaughter, Lauren (Russ) Peloquin and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Hailey, Overland Park, Kansas, as well as a niece and several nephews. It was important to Bernice to always look her best and she did even until the end. Our family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Village Shalom for all they did to make her stay something to always remember. Bernice was a lifelong member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
