Benjamin L. Kaufman Obituary (2006)

Benjamin L. Kaufman, 90, passed away quietly on Tuesday, April 18, in Carlsbad, CA, surrounded by his family. Ben was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He adored all his girls as well as his large family and many friends and he will be terribly missed. He was a captain in the U.S. Army in WWII. After the war, he joined his brother Harry in the Harry Kaufman Company and ran that business until his death. Ben was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom. He was preceded in death by his siblings, I.W. Kaufman, Harry Kaufman and Doris Poder. Ben is survived by his wife of 64 years, Inez Kaufman; his daughters and sons-in-law: Dr. Donald and Sherrie Hunninghake, Jere Kaufman, Shelley and Raphael Smadja and six loving grandchildren. Graveside services will be 1:00pm Friday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of their choice.
