Ancely Hammer Swade Obituary (1926 - 2011)

Ancely C. Swade, 84, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Village Shalom. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Monday, October 17, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114. Ancely was a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue, Ohev Sholom Synagogue and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah and was also a member of their Sisterhood’s of which she was an active member. She was also a former member of B’nai B’rith Women, was a life member and past president of Hadassah, taught kindergarten at Ohev Sholom for over 10 years, was personal secretary to Rabbi Gershon Hadas, of blessed memory, and lectured for Weight Watchers. Ancely liked the arts, was a lifelong member of the Theater League, loved music, wrote plays, parodies and novels. She love to travel, especially on cruises, and loved getting together with family for all of the holidays, and especially loved being with her grandchildren. Ancely was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, in 1991, a son, Scott Swade, in 1988 and her longtime companion, Clarence Kivett. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Mark and Rhonda Swade, Carmel Valley, CA; Brad Swade and his longtime companion, Jeannie Shaffer, Lenexa, KS; grandchildren: Joshua Swade and his wife Lauren, Shanna Swade, Jonathan Swade and his wife Kelly, Micah Swade and Samantha Swade; great-grandchildren: Levi Swade, Ozzie Swade and Stella Swade.
