A. Robert “Bob” Parelman, 78, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, March 18, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue or the KU Cancer Center, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Suite #302, Westwood, KS 66205. Mr. Parelman was an attorney for 50 years. Most of his career was with the Law Offices of DeWitt & Zeldin. He was a 50 year member of the Missouri State Bar Association. Bob was a lifelong member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and was Past President of B’nai B’rith Lodge in 1973. He was born in Kansas City, MO, graduated from Paseo High School and received his B.A. degree and Doctor of Laws degree from UMKC in 1954. Mr. Parelman was a member of Pi-Alpha-Lambda “PALS” which was organized in 1947 by lifelong friends who got together weekly. He was in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957. Mr. Parelman was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Minnie (Dunn) Parelman and a sister, Debbie Kopitnik. He was a loving husband to his wife of 48 years, Sandra Parelman, of the home; loving father to his son: Daniel Moshe Parelman, Brooklyn, NY and his daughter and son-in-law: Beth and Howard Seigle, Kansas City, MO; He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law: David and Judy Parelman, Overland Park, KS; sister and brother-in-law: Eleanore and Jim Judd, Denver, CO; and was a “doting” grandfather to his granddaughter: Sydney Seigle, Kansas City, MO;
