Alvin P. Schwartz Obituary (2008) - Overland Park, Kansas

Alvin P. Schwartz, 95, of Leawood, KS, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Thursday, October 30, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Avenue. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice. Mr. Schwartz sold jewelry as an outside salesman for Macallen Jewelry Co. for 20 years. He then was a partner with Hoffman-Schwartz, an Insurance and Mutual Funds company in Overland Park, KS for approximately 30 years. Mr. Schwartz was a member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, Meadowbrook Country Club for almost 50 years and enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris H. and Esther Schwartz; brother, Leslie Schwartz and his sister, Shirley Sircus. Mr. Schwartz is survived by his wife of 69 years, Hermine “Tunie” Schwartz, Leawood, KS; sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis Schwartz and Debbie Baxter, Lake Quivira, KS; Roger and Vicki Schwartz, Wellington, FL; brother: Herbert Schwartz, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Melissa Schwartz and her husband David Hefty, Wellington, FL; Miles and Sara Schwartz, Denver, CO; Evan and Hannah Schwartz, Brooklyn, NY; Scott and Beth Friedson, Austin, TX; Daniel Friedson, Pittsburg, PA and 7 great-grandchildren.
